Our country is blessed with some of the world's richest wilderness areas - and some of its rarest creatures. In order to preserve this vital bio-diversity, we urge all visitors to read the following guideliness and help us protect our natural heritage- for our sake of all future generations.
The protection of Kenya's natural environment is a responsibility that is shared by the tourist industry,Local people and visitors. Visitors have the power to influence the behaviour of others. If you see an incident which clearly contravenes any of the guideliness below, please record the details and request an Incident Report Form from the reception at your hotel. If you insist that these guidelines are adhered to, you will be playing an important part in helping Kenya preserve some of the world's greatest wilderness areas.
1. Always Travel with reputable operators like Otuga Safaris Ltd and Qualified Safari Guides.
2. Insist that your Tour operator only uses Trained and Certified Professional Safari Guides.
3. Respect Local Cultures and Promote Community Benefits.
4. Support Projects, Properties and Initiatives that benefit Local people through Employment,Social Developments and the preservation of Traditional livelihoods and local Cultures.
5. Support Eco-friendly Accomodation and Activities
6. Try to stay at lodges and Safari Camps that look after their environment and support conservation projects.
1. Keep to designated roads and track.
2. Encourage your driver to stay on roads or Designated tracks when visiting National Parks or Reserves.
3. Note that off-road driving can cause extensive damage to grass and woodland habitats.
4. Minimise disturbance to animals.
5. Wild animals become distressed when they are surrounded by several vehicles or when vehicles come too close to them. Please keep noise to a minimum and never try to attract the attention of animals.
6. Stay inside your vehicle at all times.
7. Do not stand on the roof or hang out of the windows and only leave your vehicle in designated areas. Remember wild animals can be dangerous!!
8. Keep to the speed limit.
9. Most wildlife areas have a speed limit of 40 kph and animals have right of way.
10. Never feed any animal.
11. Feeding wild animals can upset their diet and lead to unnatural dependence on people.
12. Do not disturb the ecological balance.
13. Do not purchase, collect or remove any animal products, rock or plants,seeds,bird's nests or alter the natural environment in any way.
14. Take your litter with you.
15. Litter and garbage is very dangerous to wild animals. Please keep all litter with you and be extremely careful with cigarettes and matches as these can cause bush fires - especially in the dry seasons.

2. Protect the marine environments.
3. Do not touch or stand on coral reefs and never dispose of litter on the beach or in the sea.
4. Never buy or remove animals or shells from the sea.
5. Avoid buying starfish, shells or any products that derive from Turtles, Whales or other ENDANGERED species.
6. Avoid buying undersized crabs and lobsters, which are contributing to the rapid demise of these species.
7. Support traditional coastal livelihoods.
8. Try to support designated market areas where traders are making an effort to keep their businesses off the beaches.
9. Do not give money or gifts to children as this encourages them to stay away from school.
10. Respect Local Cultures and customs.
11. Always dress in a respectful way when visiting towns and villages and never bathe topless on the beach.
